BIODIVERSITY OF TURKEY EVENT HELD IN İZMİR

Special Event on Biodiversity of Turkey was held in İzmir on 29 April 2019 by participation of Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan İnam Kerimov and Representative of UN Food and Agriculture Organization Viorel Gutu.
 


General Manager of Turkish Grain Board Ahmet Güldal also participated in this event and the book titled “Biodiversity in Turkey” prepared by UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and academics was introduced and studies on grain, fruit, vegetables, ornamental plants and aquaculture conducted by Turkish ministry within the scope of biodiversity efforts and exhibiting biodiversity of Turkey were displayed there.
 


Minister Bekir Pakdemirli stated the following in his speech given within the scope of the event: “Turkey is among the global leaders in terms of biodiversity. Turkey's agricultural soils are among the cleanest topsoils of Europe. And Turkey is a rich country in terms of flowering plants and plant species within her climate zone.”
