Purchase Requirements of Unscratched Opium Poppy Capsules

1- They shall have specific and natural colour and smell.

2- Moisture content shall be maximum 12%.

3- There shall not be any green capsule parts included in the lot offered for sale.

4- They shall not be heated, fusty or fermented.

5- In case capsules' colour is changed, they are shriveled and shrunk, as they are wetted on purpose and then dried, capsules shall not be purchased and shall be seized.

6- Foreign substance content of the capsules shall not exceed 8%. For the quantities exceeding this amount, no payment shall be made and they shall be seized.

7- There shall not be any scratched capsules and such capsules and their lots shall be totally seized and relevant procedures shall be applied.

8- Foreign substances are defined as the total of dried, heated capsules before maturation, organic and inorganic materials remaining on the sieve other than the capsules, as well as total organic and inorganic materials passing through 2.2 mm circular US Sieve.

9- The dust of capsule inside the capsules shall be deemed as foreign substance and capsule dust rate shall not exceed 7%.

10- Opium poppy seeds inside the capsules shall be deemed as foreign substance and shall not exceed 1% of the content. Capsules with more content value shall be completely cleared by the producer and then shall be purchased.
