Crop Technology and Laboratory Branch

Our Crop Technology and Laboratory Branch is accredited at Alveograf, Wet Gluten, Falling Number, Crude Protein, Hectoliter, Ash, Moisture, Zeleny sedimentation and physical analysis test methods for cereals.

Accreditation expansion studies are continuing.

The Crop Technology and Laboratory Branch was licensed as the REFERENCE AUTHORIZED CLASSIFIER for cereals, legumes and oil seeds by the Ministry of Customs and Commerce on 18 May 2011.

Our Crop Technology and Laboratory Branch personnel with its' reference authorized classifier License has firstly provided the following laboratories to obtain authorized classifier licenses by on-site inspection:

Polatli Commodity Exchange Office's Central and Branch Laboratories, Cereal Laboratories of Bandırma Commodity Exchange Office and Edincik Branch, Lüleburgaz Commodity Exchange Office Laboratory, Ankara Commodity Exchange Office Ahiboz Cereal Technologies Laboratory, Çorum Commodity Exchange Office's Central and Branch Laboratories, Gaziantep Commodity Exchange Office's Private Food Control Central and Mersin Branch Laboratories and on September 3-4, 2012 the Mersin Laboratories of AFC Laboratory affiliated to Yayla Agro Food Company's.

Thus, 7 laboratories have been licensed by the Authorized Classifier License.

Our Crop Technology and Laboratory Branch was accredited at Alveograf, Wet Gluten, Falling Number, Crude Protein, Hectoliter, Ash, Moisture, and Zeleny sedimentation Index tests including 8 experimental method by the TURKAK on 12 February 2009.

Accreditation expansion studies are continuing.

The Crop Technology and Laboratory Branch was licensed as the REFERENCE AUTHORIZED CLASSIFIER at cereals, legumes and oil seeds by the Ministry of Customs and Commerce on 18 May 2011.

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MYCOTOXIN

Our Crop Technology and Laboratory Branch was invited to the International Mycotoxin Symposium which was held in Liege, Belgium from Turkey by the Unisensor Company on March 23, 2012.

The Crop Technology and Laboratory staff has represented our Institution at the symposium. There were 118 attendees from various countries of the world.

Prof., Dr., Expert-level from Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy and Switzerland made presentations at the final methods for detection of multiple mycotoxins in grains and the global situation and trends at Symposium.


                 


INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CEREAL CHEMISTRY

The Crop Technology and the Laboratory Branch participated to the "2nd International Cereal Chemistry Workshop" which was held by ABP firm and the Food Engineering Department of Hacettepe University at Hacettepe University on 02.04.2012.
TAGEM, Food Engineering departments of some university, Flour Industrialists and the other parts of the sector have attended to the workshop beside our Laboratory.

The analytical solutions for quality control of cereals, detection of pest damage at wheat with Mixolab device, quality assessment of wheat genotypes, to determine the quality of the flour to make biscuits, cake flour quality were processed and the results of the research were presented during the workshop.

Charles Loubersac d'Hotel, who is the export manager of the Chopin company, gave a presentation about grain quality control equipment and the new developments in analytical techniques.

Doç. Dr. Hulya DOĞAN from Kansas State University was presented the results of her research for the behavior of wheat flour and vital gluten by changing the Mixolab Device Protocols.

In addition, information about the Mixolab system was given at laboratory environment and the evaluations were made for the character of flour sample and the appropriate using of flour sample according to purpose by analyzing the flour sample.

Workshop have been highly beneficial in that share of the scientific studies related to devices functions of scientists who is using this new technology devices at the research facilities and at the University Laboratories.
